GREEN EUROPE

1

Europe’s nature has so many forests, mountains, long rivers, deep seas, etc… But it also is under threat. Unsustainable farming and forestry practices, pollution, climate change and invasive species are stressing and damaging all natural systems in Europe.

Many terrestrial and aquatic species are at risk of permanent damage or, in some cases, extinction. Europe is consuming more than its nature can provide. Cities have been growing in natural areas, farms, and forests. Air pollution from agriculture, transport or industry impacts many ecosystems.

Europe has made some progress toward protecting its nature. For example, a growing share of its land and marine areas are designed as protected areas. Still, much more must be done to protect and restore nature and allow it to help us cope with climate change.

My idea is that we should gather young people from the age of 16 to 30 and divide them in two teams and we will go to natural areas, farms, and forests with no buildings around and the first team has to plant 5-10 trees per person and another team has to clean those areas.
