We find fast fashion affordable, fast and with availability of sizes that are difficult to find in other stores. Although what has been said so far are advantages, we cannot forget that in most factories the staff is exploited, in addition to the negative impact it has on the environment. Millions of liters of water are used to manufacture the garments, tons of waste is thrown into the sea and the carbon emissions generated in the manufacturing process are very high.
As European citizens we can all do our bit to put an end to fast fashion, both manufacturers and consumers.
CONSUMERS
Buy only what is necessary or in second-hand stores.
Stop consuming in stores that promote fast fashion or that discriminate against the manufacture of different sizes.
MANUFACTURERS
Use of durable materials, non-harmful or toxic dyes, recycled materials. Manufacture of large or smaller sizes than usual in the market.
