Education is one of the most important pillars of any society, as it lays the foundation for a successful and prosperous future. As we have seen during Covid-19, education has been hit hard. Students, schools, and universities have been deeply impacted. In most member states, education suffered long before that. The Students learn what was designed 30 years ago and is no longer useful today. The textbooks are old and outdated. The same textbooks can be replaced with material that can be found online videos, quizzes and interactive games. There are some steps that the European Union (EU) can implement.
The European Union (EU) should establish a task force bringing together education experts, policymakers, and representatives from member states. The task force should be responsible for designing and implementing the education improvement program in each member state individually.
The program would be targeted at students of all ages, starting from primary school up to higher education. The European Union (EU) could partner with technology companies and educational institutions to provide training and resources for teachers and students. The program could also include workshops, online courses, and other learning materials to help students improve their digital skills.
The European Union (EU) needs to engage proactively so that the program runs as effectively and efficiently as possible. This could be done by providing funding and grants to support the training and resources needed for teachers and students. This would help ensure that all kids in the EU, whatever of their circumstances, have access to a high-quality education.
Additionally, the EU could adopt a comprehensive approach to monitor and evaluate the program’s implementation in each member state to ensure an optimal level of progress and growth. This approach would involve providing regular updates on key performance data, such as student achievement, graduation rates, and digital literacy skills.
