Youth Goal #5 – Mental Health & Wellbeing

This episode was created by the Slovak organization Európsky Dialóg (European Dialogue).
A significant and increasing number of young people across Europe are expressing concerns about the prevalence of mental health problems, such as high levels of stress, anxiety, depression and other mental health illnesses among their peers.

It has become a priority for the European Union to achieve better mental wellbeing and end stigmatization of mental health issues, thus promoting social inclusion of all young people.Today we have the chance to discuss these concerns with Vladimír Šucha, who has followed a long-term academic and research career before joining the European Commission.

Since 2014, he has been working as Director-General of the Joint Research Centre, the in-house scientific service of the European Commission. Based on his expertise in sciences and European affairs, he will help us understand the core issues underlying this Youth Goal.
